HeadStart Action Programme

The HeadStart Action programme is a personal and social development programme for young people who are at risk of becoming NEET (not in education, employment or training).

It focuses on bridging the link between social action and employability, to engage and inspire young people, giving them the skills, experience and connections they need to get ahead in the world of work. HeadStart Action, supported by the Mayor of London, was developed by The Challenge, in partnership with Team London.

The programme was delivered by 2-3 Degrees in 2021 to young people aged 15-18 in the London Borough of Southwark through two cohorts each lasting for 10 weeks between January 2021 – September 2021.

Throughout this period we have worked with over 50 young people in the borough to develop key employability skills and various youth-led social action projects on topics such as; homelessness, mental health, racism and reforming the education system in the UK.
